Eco Council

The Eco Council is responsible for helping to care for the school grounds and promot-ing sustainable practices. Every year, we carry out an eco-audit to identify the school's strengths and areas for improvement so that we can plan ways to enhance our environment. It is also essential to hold regular meetings to discuss new ideas and plans. Members of the Eco Council were elected by their classmates. To secure their positions, they had to explain why they wanted to be part of the Eco Council. A chairperson and secretary have already been appointed. Throughout the year, we look forward to growing fruit and vegetables and, eventually, selling them to the school's friends and supporters. As members of the Eco Council, we are proud to be a group of ethical and informed young citizens. We look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as we work together to make our school a greener and more sustainable place. The school was proudly awarded the Eco-Schools Bronze Award in 2025. As part of our commitment to respecting one another and protecting our planet, we place a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. We actively encourage sustainable practices throughout the school, including: Recycling paper, other materials, clothing and printer cartridges. Teaching pupils how to grow their own fruit and vegetables. Promoting responsible waste reduction, recycling and refuse management. Monitoring and reducing the use of electricity, gas and water wherever possible. Through these initiatives, we aim to help our pupils develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to become environmentally responsible citizens, both within school and in the wider community.
